Elementary School Fair this Tuesday:
The Charter School Service Center will be sending a representative to the Elementary School Fair at the Beth El-Zedeck Center. Any charter school serving K-5 students please send all promotional materials, including open house dates to 2540 N. Capitol Ave., Suite 101, Indianapolis, IN 46208 to the attention of Lindsey Brown by Monday October 16th.

Board Development Luncheons:
Great leaders make great schools. Great schools make good students and future members of the Indiana business community. Are you or someone you know interested in learning more about charter schools or serving on their boards? In order to inform the community and to recruit additional board members for new and operating charter schools, the Service Center is hosting a series of board development luncheons to be hosted in a few Indiana regions. We will kick off the series in Indianapolis at 3 local charter schools. The Indianapolis luncheons will be co-sponsored by the Indianapolis Chamber of Commerce. Get the word out to potential board members:

LB: What is your position on charter schools?

BB: As the author of the first Charter School bill introduced in Indiana in 1992, I am a strong believer in the charter school movement.  I continued to fight with Sen. Theresa Lubbers, Rep. Bob Behning and others to enact this important school reform until it was finally adopted in 2001.  I strongly support charter schools and believe that the flexibility and competition they introduce is one key to education success for the future.
